On a local note...
On The Grand Leadership Challenge:
Ooh, the big story that's been percolating away in the background for years has burst all over the front pages. We're so excited. Completely out of the blue, at an entirely inopportune moment for all parties immediately involved.
It's made me, and the Australian media, and public, completely forget about how swiftly that oil deal with East Timor got sewn up - a day or two after the rejigged Timor leadership was installed.
Oh well.
